Meet Mike Sucharda
31+ YEARS. ONE BREED.
Mike is a third-generation Doberman owner, breeder, and professional dog trainer with more than 31 years of specialized experience in Doberman training and development.
Long before social media made dog training a content category, Mike was developing his knowledge through hands-on work with the breed.
That experience shaped the philosophy behind Hochburg K9 today: preserve the integrity of the Doberman while helping owners develop dogs that are confident, intelligent, reliable, and capable.
His approach isn’t based on chasing trends.
It’s built on decades of working with Dobermans, understanding their temperament, recognizing their individual capabilities, and knowing that effective training requires consistency from both dog and owner.

I want to share my story in case it helps someone else. My first Doberman was extremely sick and lethargic and I had no answers. I got her from a bad breeder (which I didn’t realize at the time), and no vet could figure out what was wrong. I felt completely lost.Then I found Mike. He went above and beyond, guiding me step by step and truly caring through the entire process. Because of him, my Doberman is now healthy, active, and living an amazing life. I genuinely believe he helped save her. He also did her ear posting, and they turned out perfect. I later rescued another Doberman, and Mike helped transform her too – deep teeth cleaning, health guidance, and a proper diet. The difference in her was incredible. Now I have a third Doberman puppy, and I still go to him for everything—ear posting, nail trims, diet, and overall care. He also offers boarding, which gives me peace of mind knowing my dogs are safe and cared for. On top of that, he’s an amazing trainer.
